The EMECETUS Project also includes an educational component and project spreading in order to educate the public about these remarkable animals and motivate people for cetaceans' conservation.

Madeira Whale Museum presentation

In order to achieve this goal, the Madeira Whale Museum will supply and develop the educational space in the new museum facilities. In that space the whale education program curriculum will be developed along with Madeira students in order to complement school programs, this way increasing awareness about cetaceans and making students learn more about the ocean environment and to act upon this knowledge.

Attached to the didactic space there will be a classroom that will allow teachers and Madeira Whale Museum educational guides to develop specific activities according to the students groups.

Moreover, the Project includes a training component of the whale watchers operators promoting the correct practices in the WW activity in order to contribute to quality in the WW activity and its sustainability in long-term.
